Our Story
What is Life of a Beekeeper, you may ask?
It is the passion of a beekeeper, spending his life striving to create the best possible bee products from nature. In doing so, unlocking the secret of longevity.
Our honey is handcrafted wholly by Stefanos and his hard working bees from Kalamos, Kythira, Greece.
The bees have been in the exact same place since 1914, passed down from generation to generation.
Stefanos’ passion and inspiration for bees started when he was eight years old on the Greek island of Kythira, where he would learn and help his grandfather tend to his own bees.
As for his Grandfather Nikos (pictured below), at 96 years old, he was still producing honey, although this time with the help of his grandson Stefanos.
Inspired by his Grandfather's way of life (Life of a Beekeeper) and following in his footsteps as a beekeeper, Stefanos discovered the beauty of such a unique place, realising that there is only one way you can truly experience the taste of this extraordinary island.
His contribution as a beekeeper, is to capture the taste and aroma of Kythira in a single jar, and offer it with pride to whomever is lucky enough to acquaint its taste.
By working closely with his hives, Stefano has inherited an abundance of knowledge about beekeeping, and is excited to share his passion about the simple yet very complex act of little miraculous bees with everyone.
His aim is simple: from beehive to jar, he wants to share this unique goodness with you.
